What about strength training? Strength training is the use of resistance to build strength and size of skeletal muscles. Most often, the first thought is lifting weights. There are, however, many forms of strength training. For example, using the body weight for resistance, water exercises, bands, or swiss balls are a good place to start. Combining aerobic activity with strength training and a good nutritional plan can help you achieve your goals. But remember: it will not work if you are inconsistent and do not give it top priority. You do not need to join a gym or purchase expensive weight equipment that most often go unused. The key to any exercise program is that you enjoy the physical activity that you call “exercise”.
